Loading "Global" Default Set - Real View
Pyware currently has a very useful feature when inside the 3D Drill Document Options > Real View Perspective, whereas we can choose and set "Defaults" for the Performing Venue (Venue, Sky, Ground, Surface), and the Starting Visuals (Uniform style, Hold, Facing, etc.) But something is missing. The ab...

Re: Gameboard use with Pyware
Now that the writing season is over, I'm looking into upgrading my hardware. I've already got a new 27inch imac. now I'm looking into streamlining the writing process. Does anyone have opinions on using gameboards like the Logitech G13? Thanks, Reed Hello again, Reed. Of course, I am definitely hap...

Re: The First Drill Design Software Exhibition
Hi there... I feel kind of awkward being the only person to actually respond to you (on here at least) and wanted to give my personal opinion on this. I believe this "exhibition" you created is kinda cool and could be fun for some people, however I feel that your timing for this couldn't be worse. I...

Re: editing a performers path?
Yea, I don't get it. I run into that problem a lot. I want to move a group of performers or morph them, but I don't like the path. Sometimes they run into other people but I know in my mind where i want them to go. I want to think it would be some sort of compound move but isn't. I've added an extr...

Clinic tools bug and surface shadows in Real View
Clinic I'm experiencing a bug that happens about every 3rd or 4th time I use the Clinic tools. When I turn on the clinic tools and examine the drill, for some reason the "warning triangles" continue to flash and show on the Design View, even after I have closed out of the clinic windows. This doesn...

Re: Wacom Cintiq and Pyware
George It looks like a screen with an integrated touch screen. We have a Waucom tablet here that we test with and it works great. As for if the Real View will work with it, I would assume so since it is just a monitor you would plug in to your existing computer. Oh, so it just attaches to your comp...

Wacom Cintiq and Pyware
Does anyone know if it is possible to run Pyware on the Wacom Cintiq LCD tablet? Specifically this one, which is the one I'm eyeing - Cintiq 24HD Says it'll work with the latest operating systems, which is a huge plus. But has anyone on here ever used one of these and written drill with Pyware on it...

Re: Advice on which pyware to purchase?
I am a current high school senior and I am very much interested in writing marching shows now and through my college education. Unfortunately, I am unsure which version of Pyware would be the best choice for a beginner. I intend to use this program for years to come, so pricing should not be the de...

Re: New venue?
I just wanted to add - I also had the issue of the HS venue not appearing or being selectable upon the initial run of v7.0.4 on my Mac running OS X 10.8.
all worked fine and well after quitting and restarting Pyware and running it for the second time. has been working fine ever since.

Re: Reset Sky Camera Pans
I'm not sure if this will work, but select page tab on count 0 and go to cameras and set it to where you want it to be. Then click and drag the red anchor ALLL the way to the end of the drill file. Select the camera and click ok and 0 for the panning. Maybe that's what you already did and I just mi...

Thanks for the reply! Not quite working. It's hard to explain, so I'll just post a video of what I'm talking about. http://youtu.be/D3rQnLw-TkE Before I applied any camera pans I was able to "fly" freely during animation. With the camera pan data added If I attempt to fly freely It jumps me to that...

Re: PNG colors washed out for props
I have noticed this as well and wanted to mention this same issue. I thought about it a while ago but oddly thought it was me just seeing things at 4am. ;) I am not 100% positive at this moment but I believe it's for any file type - for me, jpeg and png. An example of this issue I've seen, I created...

Re: A few update suggestions
Want to try to help a little if I can... 4. Fix the wonkiness of the tool handles. Even with the resolution of the handles set at "1" step, I can still draw a horizontal line at two step interval that isn't straight. There needs to be some sort of 'snap to grid' option (with choosable step size reso...

Re: Shifting a show
I've just started my drill writing career last year, so please let me know if this is an obvious question. I have wrote my school's opener drill and I've realized everything is about 4-6 steps too close to the front sideline. Is there an easy fix to this that I don't know about or do I just need to...

What can I use other than camtasia? Are you on a Mac? If so, I recommend ScreenFlow. Costs $99 and worth every penny. A free alternative for Mac users is QuickTime X. A lot of people either don't know about this or completely forgot, but QuickTime X (Snow Leopard and later OS X versions) will allow...

Thanks Dustin Now that I have played with it for a while, I think my issue is a FONT issue I really would like to have numbers instead of saxophones trumpets and trombones. Re: Problems with editing sets
This might sound weird but here's how I fix this. Go to the page(s) you rewrote and select the performers you edited. Click/select the Morph Tool and simply hit "Accept" without selecting/deselecting the boxes or adjusting anything. This will fix the animation between the pages. You will have to do ...

Hello. Well, one of the reasons I chose to not post it online was because I took the time to share the info with a few friends/colleagues who, after I continued to discuss it in detail, decided it was too much work and not really worth the effort. And to be honest, I don't blame them. I approached t...

I'm not sure if it's the same font you're talking about but you can access the key in Pyware by selecting the "Pyware Dot Symbol Key" under the Reference selection in the menu bar.

Re: Smoother Animation
Isn't this just animating everything in double-time? The way I do it, it's not necessarily double-time by itself but some people have found that method to be the easiest way to accomplish the smoother animation with the current versions of Pyware. My hopes are to someday see a more "natural" animat...

Audio suggestion: 1) I realize I'm probably a broken record here, but I'm going to keep asking for some way to restore mp3 functionality to the program, even if it's a backdoor config file alteration or a "use at your own risk" check box or something like that. Ditto! I never once had a problem wit...

I don't know where to put this thread because I'm not sure if this was intentional, a mistake or just something in the works. I've been working on a drill sequence that involves a bit of half-time mixed with single time marching. The drill I wrote is not part of any actual drill file, but just a sep...
